A little help from Mac friends?
Okay, this is a plea for assistance from any Mac guru's out there. I have a Macbook, 2GHz Core Duo, and I love it. However, I'm having a big problem: I can't run Office 2004. When I try to launch it, nothing happens. Nada. Not Word, not Excel, not PowerPoint. So, I did all the standard things I know: I reinstalled Office; I zapped the PRAM; I even found a solution in the Apple KB, which had me update prebinding, which generates an error on my system:update_prebinding: error: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/ApplicationServices Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/AppKit.framework/Versions/C/AppKit Reason: no suitable image found. Did find: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/ApplicationServices: mach-o, but wrong architecture /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/ApplicationServices: mach-o, but wrong architecture update_prebinding: error 256 running update_prebinding_coreAny suggestions? (Don't run Office is not a suggestion, I have to... and yes, I've tried Open Office). Help!

Did you find a solution yet? With my MacBook, I decided to leave Microsoft Office in the realm it was intended - Windows XP. So I use Parallels and just switch platforms when I need Office. It's really a little less convenient than I expected, but not too bad. It isn't an issue with Parallels as much as my laziness. I'm often unwilling to spend the extra 2 minutes to launch Parallels, save the Word document in a shared Parallels folder, and open it in XP. Okay, so this isn't a very helpful post, more of a rant, but maybe...it'll...help...
