Why People Hate Lawyers.
Vanity licenses plates on Mercedes which read "ONE 3RD".

One of my best friends is a plaintiffs' attorney and we are both sensitive to generalizations about hated attorneys. (I mostly do defense work).
But things like this plate - it's no wonder people hate plaintiffs' attorneys. I think I have a sense of humor, but I don't think the plate is the least bit funny. Especially after all of the high and mighty "compensation for my poor client's injuries" talk to which I am subjected. If you care so much about the cause and your poor client, then don't take your 1/3 cut. Don't get me wrong, I think they are entitled to their share based on overhead and time put in on a case, but to gloat in the manner of that vanity plate is disgusting to me.
