What it means to be a liberal.

Geoffrey Stone, a law professor at UC, does an outstanding job of outlining some beliefs that he believes define a modern liberal in, What it means to be a liberal. I think he's off to a pretty good start.

Personally, I agree most with #4.

Interesting. I find #1 key, though I'm not sure I would choose the word "doubt." I do think people should RESPECT and BE OPEN TO the truths/positions of others. Too often, political discussions seem no more than dressed up versions of the "tastes great/less filling" debate. People are too busy yelling and taking sides, a la the latest "big game," to really listen to each other and come to any meaningful conclusions that might actually effect some change for the better.
